About Take Back The Frame

Clarity, when the system around you starts to distort it

Take Back The Frame is a long exhale for helpers, healers, leaders, and those carrying quiet heartbreak in a world that rarely pauses.

I’m Kathie Melocco a communications strategist, emerging filmmaker, former chaplain, trained end-of-life doula, and grief educator.

All of that is interconnected.

I care.

My work sits at the meeting place of systems and souls — where power, care, technology, and human dignity intersect in ways that shape how we live, work, and heal.

At its core, my work is about presence, listening, and patterns.

The capacity to sit with complexity, grief, moral conflict, and uncertainty without trying to fix or explain them away.

And to notice what is actually happening beneath the surface.

That practice of presence informs everything I write here.

AI is reshaping our lives at exponential speed.

My response is to become more — not less — connected to people on the ground.

Because while systems run on data…

human insight is something else entirely.

It is lived.
It is felt.
It is earned.

And in a world increasingly driven by automation and abstraction…

that kind of insight is becoming rare.

Why This Work Matters

In my recent work — including Shattered I have been documenting how systems operate.

What they say.
How they respond.
What they prioritise.

And what becomes clear is this:

Systems don’t just manage issues.

They shape how those issues are understood.

They frame language.
They influence what is visible.
They determine what becomes urgent — and what does not.

Over time, that has an impact.

Because when the frame is controlled…

people can begin to question their own experience.

What It Means to Take Back the Frame

Taking back the frame is not about fighting the system.

It is about seeing clearly within it.

It is about recognising:

  • when something doesn’t add up

  • when language doesn’t match lived experience

  • when silence or delay begins to distort meaning

It is about holding onto what you know to be true — even when it is not reflected back to you.

Because there is a difference between:

what is said
and
what is lived

And this space exists to help you navigate that difference.

What I Believe

You are not broken.

You are responding — wisely, instinctively — to a world that has, at times, broken trust.

Here, we slow things down.

We look gently and clearly.

We reclaim the frame — so you can see yourself with more truth, more compassion, and more room to breathe.

A Final Word

If you have ever felt:

that something doesn’t add up
that your experience isn’t being heard
that the explanation doesn’t match what you are living

You are not alone.

Sometimes, the most important thing you can do…

is step outside the frame that’s been given to you.

And take it back.
